When do you start decorating for Christmas?
This has been a big topic of conversation all week on blogs and Facebook.
Some people go all out in early November, so they can extend the season of JOY…
While others are waiting until after Thanksgiving (for my US friends) or the more traditional 1st December.
Whichever camp you fall into, one thing is for sure. . .
This week we’ll all be surrounded with gorgeous baubles on Christmas trees, pretty festive vignettes and twinkling fairy lights.
It’s definitely a magical season!!
I’m still adding a few finishing touches to my decor, but it does feel very ‘Christmassy’ now.
If you are still decorating or…. perhaps haven’t started yet, I have a few special projects to share with you from my friends in blogland.
Mary Beth from Cupcakes and Crinoline has a step-by-step for making this adorable shabby light up mason jar.
Really… how adorable is that little lantern!!
This is one of the projects on my ‘To Do’ list and I hope to have a few made before the weekend for my own tree.
Dria has a tutorial on her blog, DIO Home Improvements to make these amazing Polish Stars.
Even thought they look complicated, Dria says they are super quick and easy to make.
Cindy at Little Miss Celebration has a handmade project that is both a gift and a decorative piece for the recipients home. . . or just make one for yourself!!
A Christmas scrapbook can be made to suit anyone’s colour scheme and tastes. As Cindy says “You give someone a lovely, handmade gift, they have a special place for holiday photos and memories PLUS this makes a beautiful piece to display, too. It’s a holiday home run!”
We all love a good knock-off, so check out Meegan’s Miss Mustard Seed knock-off at Meegan Makes and see how easy it is to make this glittery white bauble.
With only a few days before the 1st December, you may want to dash off and make this quick and easy vintage styled advent calendar.
Jeanette from Country Design Style made this one for under $10 as a surprise for her man.
You know…. I don’t think I’ve ever made anything like that for my hubby and I recon he’d be quite chuffed to find one of these hanging in our bedroom filled with manly treats. Why should the kids have all the fun!
Sooo, we’d love to know. . . when do you start decorating?

Fantastic! All these wonderful creations from many of my bloggy friends! Great job ladies! While I love each one, I am waiting until after Thanksgiving to start decorating.
Happy Thanksgiving to all…even those who do not celebrate the official holiday!

I’ve made my first decorative piece for home but probably wont start decorating until after this weekend. Work is a different matter…
I like to have the decorations up as close to the start of December as possible but covering 3 sites this year, I’m a bit stretched. My main office will have the decs going up tomorrow (probably finished off on Monday). My smallest site will be started on Friday – hopefully they will all be done by the end of next week – looks like I’m gonna be busy.
Love those stars and lit jars.

Very fun projects! I have to admit I started decorating earlier than usual this year. Trying to extend the season a bit since Thanksgiving is late.

lovely ideas! I will take all the fall stuff down Friday and start decorating. We keep our tree up until Little Christmas (January 6 this coming year), but all my snowmen and snowflakes stay until spring.

I loved all of the ideas you shared, Kerryann! Thank you so very much for sharing my Mason Jar. I hope to start decorating this weekend but things are always changing around here so I have no idea if I’ll start or not.
Have a wonderful weekend.
