I honestly do love DIY.

If something can be homemade, home baked or home grown, then that’s exactly how I’ll do it.

Shabby Art Boutique - Best of DIY home products

I like to make DIY scented products, cleaning agents, skin care & home décor.

Often when I show my hubby projects I’m making or designing, he’ll say “You know you could just go out and buy that”…. uugghh!!!

Seriously… you’d think he’d know after 25 years of marriage that I don’t want to buy some mass produced item. I like individuality… I like things made from scratch… with a sprinkle of love/sweat/tears thrown in. That’s how I am.

Shabby Art Boutique - Best of DIY furniture

I love doing furniture transformations, room make-overs and repurpose projects.

There’s a real sense of achievement when you visualize a project and see it through from start to finish, whether that be a meal, a thrifted furniture piece or a room transformation.

When I bake, make or create I know exactly what is in that item. I know it is safe for my family and the environment. Being able to repurpose, recycle or re-use just makes it even better.

Christmas is a season when I really go all out on DIY. It somehow just addsto the magic when you create it yourself.
