We have truly embraced Christmas in our home this year.
I feel so blessed to have all my family here together, preparing and decorating our home, wrapping gifts and baking.
Thermomix Salted Caramel Fudge
Our kitchen is tiny, so it’s been quite comical with everyone crowding in there at the same time… but it’s made for lots of laughs!
Over the past few days, my girls and I have been baking lots of sweet treats to use in token gifts.
This year we are filling noodle boxes with a mixture of Christmas cookies, shortbread, fudge and truffles.
Our token gifts are not big or expensive. They are simply a small gift that says “Thank you” or “I appreciate you”.
This is a practice I began with my girls when they were very young.
We give our baked gifts to friends, neighbours and people who may not receive much at Christmas.
It’s a small gesture… but it can bring a lot of happiness to others.
If you are thinking about gifting a foodie gift as a token to someone special in your life this Christmas, you may like to check out the above recipes that we use… and what about this easy paper basket (made from one sheet of scrapbook paper). And don’t forget the yummy cake pops too!!
Another fun idea is to make a travelling neighbourhood plate to share amongst your neighbours. All you need is a thrift store plate and a Sharpie pen.
Here’s how I made my Neighbourhood Plate
